Marla, the Proverbial Wife, gave birth to a baby girl on the day that Iraq held its first democratic elections. By coincidence (at least I don't think it was by parental design), she named the baby Liberty.
One thing I was not prepared for in marriage was the bizarre attitude women have about sharing food. "I don't want anything. I'll just have some of yours." I have never and will never be able to make any sense of that self-contradictory statement. So I feel Joe Missionary's pain.
Molly at my three pennies worth laments the way the anyone inhabiting the role of husband and father today is fair game for denigration and sarcastic comments. (Thanks again to Irene.)
