His and Hers: Naming names
His and Hers is a weekly discussion of a question or topic relating to marriage. On Friday, my wife and I each write our thoughts on the week's topic. I invite others to do the same with their spouses as an exercise in celebrating marriage. This week's question is:
What will you definitely not name your child?
Mrs. Happy's response
I will not name a boy Titus, because I had a spiteful and hateful teacher in elementary school named Mrs. Titus. I will not name a girl Rebecca, because I once worked as an aid to a sadistic and hateful teacher named Rebecca. I have also had several other bad experiences with coworkers that have reduced our pool of possible names.
Curt's response
I will not name a boy Judas, Benedict, Adolph, or Mookie. I will not name a girl William.
